Friday Distractions - All the Talora feels

Happy Friday, Ladies!

Many of you have been enjoying our Friday Distractions blog for a while, but lately, we've thought that you might want to meet the gal behind the blog finally.

Hi! My name is Anna. It's nice to meet you. I've been distracting you on Fridays for over a year now (you're welcome). I live in Santa Barbara, CA, and most mornings, I'm what my kids call "a pretty sweaty mom." Don't worry; I'm not insulted. I love capturing the early morning hours for my workouts, rolling straight out of bed and into a sports bra and some leggings. Those hours before the sun is up for the day are my time, and the work I do at dawn makes me strong, so I can run around doing all the other parts of my day well. My active lifestyle and "sweaty mom" status led me to Carve, which ultimately led me to this blog. I genuinely love Carve products, and my actual obsession with Carve bathing suits is the reason I've had to designate an entire drawer in my dresser to swimwear (to be fair, that Sanitas Reversible top is also great for hot yoga).

Now that we know each other a little bit better, I want to share a few of the things I'm excited about for fall. In Santa Barbara, it's still decidedly swimsuit season, so while I spent all last weekend in my Dahlia top, I also know that it's only a matter of time before my mornings and evenings get a little chilly. It's ever so slight, but at the end of the day or in the early morning hours there's a crispness in the air that just wasn't present last month.

This midpoint between summer and fall is often a tiny bit difficult when it comes to finding the right attire. I know I'm going to need a sweater or a long-sleeve when I leave first thing, but eventually, I'll be sweating because by mid-morning the sun will be blazing.

I know the name of the game for weather like this is lightweight layers. I've been cruising through our new products, and there are so many fun mix-and-match pieces that I'm excited about adding to my wardrobe (Did I mention I also have a drawer specifically for leggings? The struggle is real).

For me, this season is all about the Talora fabric. It's super soft but also very lightweight and has a smidge of Spandex.

For those early mornings when the dew is still on the grass, and it almost feels like fall, I'm looking forward to adding the Abbot Top as my lightweight long-sleeve. It's soft and stretchy, perfect for the start of the morning workout and easy to throw on after a spin class. Plus, when the day heats up, I can tie it around my waist or toss it in my bag. It pairs perfectly with the -- always classic -- Canyon Leggings. Caution: outfitting yourself in head-to-toe Talora might ruin you for all other clothes. There may be such a thing as being too comfortable.

But I love throwing caution to the wind, and I pretty much want to be comfy all day, which is why I'm really into the Kit Tank. Again, it's a light, breathable go-to that I can wear with leggings or shorts. Its quick-dry properties make it an awesome work out tank or an easy top to throw on over the Antora Top after a sweaty hot yoga class or run.

Speaking of easy over-top layers; Modeled after the popular Cruz Rashguard, the Talora Cruz Top is an easy way to take a favorite beachy summer style into the colder months. The fact that this top exists is such a win. I love the style of the Cruz Rashguard and have worn it on top of many a bathing suit. I'm excited to see the same style in a softer everyday fabric.

Of course, as we move deeper into September, we'll all need to rely on more on those cozy separates. I have my eye on the Talora Dress. I think the black colorway would look great with the Paradise Necklace. Sometimes it's hard to change out of comfy workout clothes into "real clothes," but I have a feeling that won't be the case with this comfy dress.

Last but certainly not least in my list of Talora must-haves is the Boyd Pull Over. I've been eyeing this sweatshirt since I first saw it in May. I might even have texted pictures of it to a couple of my friends (okay, I did). I love the cowl neck and the seams on the arms. Is this the perfect late summer/early fall sweatshirt? Probably. I'm partial to the Quarry color, and I think it would look cute post-workout with leggings or paired with jeans.

Carve has so many fun new items for you this year, and I'm glad I get to share some of my faves with you. And now that we're getting to know each other, I'd love for you to share some of your favorite Fall items with me over on Instagram so keep on tagging @carvedesigns #carveon!
