Happy Friday Afternoon from the Carve crew!
Fall is in the air, the nip is nipping and there's even that pesky common cold knocking on everyone's door. We have the answer for all your Fall needs, read on to learn about an alcoholic beverage which is actually prescribed by doctor as an aid in helping cold symptoms. Our Carve pick is one that will keep you fashionably and femininely cozy when the temps drop. The song is a Tom Petty favorite, as an ode to his greatness as well as being completely seasonally relevant.
With all the beauty and color Fall brings, it can also slow you down with the rise in cases of the common cold. Although not the most prescribed treatment for the cold, the Hot Toddy is believed by many to be preventative and a relief to many symptoms of the cold and flu. The three components are vitamin C for health, the honey to sooth and the alcohol to numb. Hot toddy recipes vary and are traditionally drunk before retiring for the night, or in wet or cold weather. Read below for a very common recipe and one that was made by a cold suffering Carve employee last night and it apparently did the trick, she is back in work today. The proof is in the pudding people!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 oz (2 tablespoons) bourbon
- 1 tablespoon mild honey
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup boiling-hot water

It's beed a tough week for many reasons, which is in part why we do this Friday Distractions blog.
