They say that home is where the heart is, and our hearts belong at the beach. it’s no surprise, then, that on any given late night sofa session you can find us trolling Pinterest for beach houses that inspire us. From funky to chic, Los Angeles to Fiji, tiny cottages to modern marvels of architecture, we can always find a reason to love a house that loves the beach.
Here are 5 that we just can’t get enough of:
1. Because the main event is the main event. We’re obsessed with this take on the back yard, which centers around our two favorite things about the beach: The ocean view and the people we love to enjoy it with.
No fancy frills needed here, just pour yourself a drink, pull up a colorful Adirondack chair, and watch the sun dip down behind the waves to the soundtrack of your friends’ tall tales and belly laughs. This is how we want to spend every summer evening!
2. Plenty to reflect on. What’s better than expansive views of the ocean, sky, and palm trees? How about doubling that view with a reflection pool that spans the length of this modern beauty.
We cant get enough of this long, sleek porch positioned perfectly to take in the beautiful view! How great does it sound to wrap yourself in a huge Turkish towel (we love these from Sandcloud after a nice long surf session and plop down on a cozy cushioned lounge on this porch while you watch the sunrise light up not only the sky, but the pool below as well? Yeah, it sounds pretty amazing to us, too.
Indoor/outdoor vibes, an understated bar, some cozy seating options and a coffee table to kick up our feet. That about covers it! We could happily wait out some flat spells here.
Waking up in this plush bed, with a view that’s even plusher, would certainly fill our hearts with gratitude. Who doesn’t love the idea of checking the surf from the foot of your bed?
5. What’s for dinner? This easy, breezy, beachy kitchen has us thinking up all kinds of delicious meals that we’d cook up for our surf buddies.
Acai bowls for breakfast, avocado toast (with bacon!) for lunch, and the catch of day for dinner, perhaps? Not to mention a pitcher of margaritas, salty tortilla chips and fresh mango salsa, of course. With fuel like that, we’ll be ready to tackle all of our favorite beach adventures!
