Famous in the Bay Area, HSB (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass) has to be one of the most unique festivals around. Completely free, in the beautiful and beloved Golden Gate park, HSB has over 100 musical artists on seven stages. And not just bluegrass either (as the name suggests). Headliners include Cake, EmmyLou Harris, Cyndi Lauper and Chris Isaak. Plus, one of our favorites, and our Friday listen this week, Conor Oberst.
In keeping with this festival of the people, we are thinking about bourbon - plain and simple. Conveniently packaged by some clever folks in (where else) Brooklyn - this Kings County Bourbon is the perfect size for consuming in the park.
Friday night will be a balmy (foggy) 59 degrees, so better bring a hat too. We have just the thing.
