Friday Distractions: Tranquility

Happy Friday!

Here again with another installment of Friday Distractions.  Today we are excited to share with you the amazing voice of Mac DeMarco, a perfect beach dress/cover up and a delicious citrusy summer drink, the Paloma.

Mac Demarco's song this old dog is a great representation of his beautiful vocals, you'll never want to stop listening to his tranquil and soothing voice, check it out here.

The Brooke Dress is a customer favorite as it is one of those dresses who looks great on everyone and can be dressed up or worn causal in almost any situation.  A relaxed fit, A-Line silhouette covers a multitude of sins, and there isn’t a more stylish version than the Brooke Dress. A ladder detail in the back adds spunk while embroidery details in the front add charm, making this insanely comfortable dress work for any wardrobe. We also included some hidden side seam pockets, because sometimes a girl needs a pocket.

The Paloma is Similar in flavor notes to the margarita, the paloma features grapefruit juice or soda, sugar, fresh lime, and salt. A fizzy hit of cold grapefruit juice is ideal refreshment designed to cut through the muggy heat of summer.

Ingredients
  • sea salt , kosher salt, or margarita salt to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 ounces freshly squeezed pomelo or pink grapefruit juice (about a quarter of a pomelo or half a grapefruit), plus a pomelo or grapefruit wedge for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces soda water
Instructions
  1. For a salted rim, mix 1- 2 tablespoons salt with 1/8 teaspoon chili powder, and spread out in a small, shallow dish. Rub the rim of a highball glass with reserved pomelo or grapefruit wedge. Dip one side of the rim in the salt. If not using salted rims, stir a pinch each salt and chili powder into the cocktail.
  2. Carefully fill glass with ice. Add pomelo or grapefruit juice, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Pour in tequila and top off with soda. Finish with a pinch of chili salt and garnish with reserved citrus wedge.

Relax and enjoy this Friday!
