Friday Distractions - Sun Protection Round Up

Friday Distractions - Sun Protection Round Up

June, and we’re in love! We don’t know about you, but around here our summer countdown has been fierce. Bring. on. the. sunshine. Sand under our feet, wind in our hair and the touch of sun against our skin. Nothing feels better after a very dreary spring than the perfect sunny beach day. Except… oh there’s always an exception… for as much as we love to feel the sun on our skin, our skin doesn’t necessarily love the sun back. We want to be healthy and active for as long as possible, and we want that for you too, which is why we know that taking care of your skin is critical.

It’s really important to lather up the SPF when you’re rockin’ the Marbella Reversible Top and a Cardiff Bottom (although they also are UPF 50), but some days call for a little more coverage, which is why -- you guessed it -- we made something to help you out! Clothing can often be the ideal sun protection, and we are here for it with a full line of UPF 50 clothing and adorable (and practical) hats.

For starters, enter the Kona Rashguard. The color blocking on the sleeves and patterned prints give this rashguard the added flare you’ve been looking for. It’s a half-zip pullover, so you can adjust the amount of coverage you want and rumor has it, you won’t really notice the zip when paddling out.

Similarly, our Cruz Rashguard also boasts a half-zip. Shirred sides allow for a flattering fitted shape and the low collar a bit of extra coverage. It’s especially cute in a contrasting pattern to a bathing suit bottom., but also works on the trail when hiking.

If you’re looking for a sun shirt that you can wear to the beach and then pull on for a sunny hike, then the Lake Sunshirt is where it’s at. This full zip sun shirt actually functions more as a lightweight sun jacket with full zip pockets for your hands, you snacks, your keys -- whatever you want to keep safe and dry! We’re partial to the Strata Stripe. Pairs so well with the Elba Reversible Bottom in both new patterns.

For a rashguard that has an easy t-shirt fit, check out the Sunset Rashguard. Toss this in your beach bag or backpack for those days when you know you’ll need a little extra sun protection no matter where you go. For a fun twist on this design, check out our Aruba Sunshirt. Spoiler: it’s cropped and the most adorable. A little sexy but more protection than what your bikini would provide.

If you’re a one-piece gal who’s looking for something simple that you can wear in the water all day long, we’ve got you covered too (because of course we do). The Madeline One Piece and Sunrise One Piece suits are the most flattering while protective, and did we mention supportive (Sunrise comes with a built in shelf bra with removable pads).

For those colder, windier days, our Duckdive Onesie will cover you from the bum up for all your water activities. This alternative to neoprene, provides additional warmth through its naturally insulating capabilities, while allowing movement and breathability. Front zip makes it easy to pull on and off!

Before you head off for a day of adventuring or outdoor play, don’t forget to throw a hat in your Viva Tote or on your head. The Capistrano Crushable Hat is a perfect travel hat and will pack away with ease. Roll up the Dominica Visor and pop it open when you’re ready to wear it, or if you’re feeling sporty, bust out the Beach Trucker Hat (it looks cute with everything).

Lastly we've picked the perfect Friday tune to get you in the right head space for entering the weekend: Cayucas - Dancing at the Blue Lagoon

We might be on a bit of a jalapeño high as it adds that perfect little kick to the weekend, this time paired with refreshing cucumbers as seen on @the_margarita_mum 's Instagram.

Have fun. Play safe and head on over to our Instagram account to see how you can enter to Win a Sunshirt of Your Choice!

Love,
