A PASSION FOR ADVENTURE

It all began on a surf trip to San Pancho, Mexico for two friends, Jennifer Hinton and Thayer Sylvester.

As we lounged in a hammock waiting for the waves to roll back in, we lamented how hard it was to find board shorts that could keep up with us – real women with real bodies and a real passion for adventure. And just like that, Carve Designs was born.

Carve Designs styles represent our spirit: fun-loving, hardworking, confident, and inclined to get where we want to go.

A LOVE OF SURF & EFFORTLESS PERSONAL STYLE

Begun as a surf apparel company selling rashguards and boardshorts in 2003, Carve Designs has grown into a complete beach lifestyle brand; offering surf, swim, balance, and lifestyle clothing. We are dedicated to providing effortless feminine clothing that actually fit real women while keeping us connected to the calm content feeling that inspires us at the beach.

The women of Carve Designs are determined to push the boundaries of outdoor apparel and prove that functional can be fashionable and well-fitting. The clothes are designed to be as inspirational and versatile as the women who wear them. We continue to stay true to the vision we created 15 years ago, providing stylish apparel targeted to women actively engaged in the outdoor world.

We’re so glad to have you along on this ride!

Cheers,

Jen & Thayer

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

Mindful of the environment in which we live, Carve Designs uses sustainable fabric as much as possible. We choose Organic Cotton, made in non-genetically modified plants and without pesticides. With increasing frequency, we choose Modal, a biodegradable fabric that comes from beech trees, and reduces Carve's chemical burden on the environment.  We also choose Tencel ®, a natural fiber derived from quickly renewable eucalyptus trees. Tencel requires less water than cotton to produce and is completely biodegradable. We truly believe that using these earth-friendly yarns will help keep Mother Earth healthy and happy.

RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING

Domestic

California-based factories make a significant portion the high-quality swimwear, activewear and rash-guards we sell. Domestic manufacturing supports the U.S. economy, creates U.S. jobs, and minimizes the transit of product from origin to consumer. That minimizes our company's carbon footprint.  We remain committed to U.S. manufacturing and work with domestic factories as much as we can.

Overseas

As the textile industry in the U.S. has shrunk and our production has grown, it has become difficult to find sufficient capacity in U.S.-based factories that meet our standards. Carve Designs fosters deep relationships with its overseas factories, and our onsite managers visit the factories regularly (as often as daily during high production times) to ensure that workers are well compensated and treated fairly.
