Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The Sanitas is designed for active water play: it uses high-compression swim fabric, a racerback for secure shoulder support and full range of motion, and seamless construction to reduce chafing during repetitive movement. Those three features work together to keep the top snug and stable whether you are paddling, catching a wave, or wrangling a boogie board and a toddler at the shoreline. It also comes in D/DD size options for added support and coverage. Best for active women who want sporty, reliable support without fuss. If you need a wetsuit-level thermal barrier on cold days, this is not a replacement, but for warm-water surf and vigorous swim sessions it’s built to perform.
It offers noticeably more support and coverage than a typical bikini top. The Sanitas blends a tankini silhouette with a high-compression fabric and racerback construction, giving you a higher neckline and fuller band support that compresses and stabilizes the bust. Seamless construction reduces pressure points and creates a smooth look under clothing or on its own. This makes it ideal if you want the look of a bikini with the security of a sports top, especially for active days or when you prefer modest coverage. If you love skimpy, string-style bikinis for tanning, this is a more covered, structured alternative rather than an identical swap.
Yes, the Sanitas was designed to support larger cup sizes. It is available in D/DD options and uses high-compression swim fabric plus a racerback to distribute weight more evenly and reduce bounce. The seamless construction and wider coverage from the high neck add stability and comfort for fuller busts, especially during active use like surfing or swimming laps. It benefits women who want high-support, non-wired options that still feel sleek. For those who require underwire or custom cup shaping, an underwire style may provide different shaping preferences, but for compression-based support this top is a solid, secure choice.
Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle, cold cycle and lay flat to dry for best results. Cold, gentle washing preserves the compression and elasticity of the fabric, and air drying prevents heat damage that can loosen the compression over time. Rinse promptly after saltwater or chlorinated pool use to remove residues that can dull color and wear fibers. Because the Sanitas is reversible, drying flat keeps both sides smooth and ready to wear. This care routine helps maintain shape, support and the vivid Surfside/Nightdive colors longer. Avoid bleach, heavy detergents and tumble drying for optimal longevity.
Yes, the Sanitas aligns with Carve Designs' clean fashion approach and is made from high-performance compression fabric sourced from recycled or upcycled fibers as part of the brand’s commitment that 100 percent of the line uses recycled, upcycled, or organic materials. It also follows the brand promise of zero toxic chemicals in anything, which reduces harmful residues from production. That combination gives you durable, supportive swimwear that treads lighter on the planet while still delivering high support and reversible styling. If sustainability is a priority on your checklist, this top checks meaningful material and chemical-safety boxes, though you may still want to review specific fiber breakdowns if you need exact material percentages.

I like it in theory, fit poor for my body

As a larger breasted woman, the top does not fit well. I ordered an extra large as that is what the fit bot recommended for a bra size of 34 G. Huge in the band, too small in the cup area. My fix is to wear bra-sized swimsuit underneath. Curious whether md/lg DD would fit better though don’t want to order to try as sale items non refundable.

    So comfortable, I love it

I had purchased one of these a year ago for swimming. I realized that I loved wearing this top and on one river trip, went ahead and used it as a bra. LOVED IT! Looks great under shirts and is so comfortable. So I bought two more to use as bras. Seriously, unbelievably comfortable and looks great.

    Love this swim top!

This top is SO comfortable! I’m 5’2” and 140 lbs, with a 34DD bra size. The size medium fit perfectly. The material is super soft, but keep in mind that the top is reversible, so there aren’t any cups. This is considered a compression top, and although you won’t be falling out of it, it isn’t like a tight-fitting sports bra. I am comfortable wake surfing and playing in the water with my kids, but I’m not wearing this to go jogging. I would definitely purchase this again!

    paper thin

As other reviewers mentions, this top is THIN. You can see the hotline of everything without it being cold ;) I'm okay without padding, but then I wish the material was a little thicker. The band fit fine, but the overall chest area was a little roomy, which did not give me any compression vibes. For reference, I am 5/5, long torso, size 30/DD or 32/D. I tried the XS and SM/DD. XS was better but still a little big in chest.
