Shop Recycled SwimI’m finding my body type does not fit the high rise 12 as well as the original. Tighter.
I love Carve’s fit and style. These shorts are made well and provide a little more coverage than the shorter shorts for those days when you aren’t feeling it with your legs.
I did a review when I returned the shorts, but here we are again. Please break out of the standard design box and make shorts not only by inches, but shape!! From the waist up and I am one size and hips below a smaller size. Yet every one seems to think women who wear a size 12 or 14 has a small waist and large hips, thighs and legs. Finding shorts that fit a an inverted triangle is a challenge and I was sad to see that Carve follows the STANDARD trend.
I ordered these, despite my fear of corduroy which always seems to run small, because I prefer a 6 in inseam and it's not easy to find. Well, I love love these shorts! They are true to size. When I first tried them on, I thought "oh noooooo, they are too tight!!!" I felt like they pulled across my hips, although the waist fit fine. But.... there is the tiniest bit of stretch and, after one wearing, they were perfection. The inseam is the perfect length, not too short but not so long that they look frumpy. If you try them on and they seem just a smidge tight, don't worry. They'll stretch to fit you. I've had them a week and haven't touched any of my other shorts. I came back for a second pair.
I like the light weight material and length, but WOW the sizing was so off. Reviews led me to believe sticking to my normal Carve size (6 in the jeans) but I couldn’t get them buttoned ! Returned for an 8 (my size in other brands) and barely any larger. Sent those back for a 10 and while I can button them, they are snug too. I haven’t worn a 10 in anything for 15 years. I’m keeping them but won’t be buying Carve brand due to the inconsistency in sizing. The return policy thankfully is really good, but still a hassle.
